Day 80 – 365 Things To Do In Bellingham, WA – Sign up for the Human Race

Join the Human Race and raising money for your favorite cause, while getting yourself some exercise and having some fun. It takes place Saturday, June 12 at  Zuanich Point Park, starting at 8:30am.

The Human Race is a 5K walk and 5K/10K run and the only local fundraising event where you can choose the non-profit that you want to pledge money to go.

Last year the Human Race had 434 racers and raised more than $48,000 for 50 nonprofit organizations, which don’t have the resources to put on a fundraising event of their own.

Only the first three men and women in both the 5K and 10K races will be timed, for all others there will be a large clock at the finish line and you can determine your own time.

Early registration is only $15 through June 9 at 5 p.m. Registration is $20 after June 9. Registration forms can be turned in online or in person at Whatcom Volunteer Center. Online registration is available at www.active.com.

There will be lunch served after the race. There will be prizes for race winners, individuals and teams raising the most money, and individuals, groups and pets with the most creative costumes. It’s a festive atmosphere with a Family Fair at the park with balloon animals, face painting and children’s games.
